eBay
So what is eBay? It’s the biggest online trading community on the web. It’s one big 24 hour auction site. And the playing field is equal, that’s what I like. Many individuals, maybe even your neighbours, are making money week in week out with their own cyber auctions.
You can buy and sell on eBay … some smart operators go as far as buying their products from other online auctions sites and then start selling them on eBay. (Or if you are a local bargain hunter, try finding products to sell from garage sales or from the classifieds in your area.)
Worldwide eBay is huge! Over two million auctions a day. Now that’s serious stuff. And although big business has now begun to show a presence on eBay, a good proportion of items being sold are from individuals. Great news.
Most developed countries throughout the world have their own eBay site. In Australia, the website URL is simply: ebay.com.au
Go to the eBay site and have a look around if BONANZAJP you haven’t already had a look. It’s fascinating stuff watching people bid … seeing people make money and for all we know they’re in bed soundly asleep. And that’s the beauty of it. People can bid seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
While you’re at eBay’s site take their tour. It’s an audio version and they take you through the whole works on what eBay’s about, how to register, all the rules and stuff, and how to do an auction.
Looks easy enough, but there are many ways you can do to improve your auction. In future issues we’ll look at a few tips and tricks to improve your chances of success.
Sourcing Products To Sell
If you’re looking for some bargains to buy, you can find them here on eBay. My wife has been doing some buying lately for her pre-loved clothing shop and I can tell you she’s picked up some bargains. So don’t just think about selling on this site. If you have a flea market stall, or maybe you are buying and selling from the classifieds in your local paper … well eBay can be a good place to source your products.
More Than Just Collectables
And it’s not just antiques and collectables that people are buying and selling. Basically all types of stuff are being offered. There are 1600 categories to choose from, selling stuff like: computers, books, old magazines (The war years fetch top dollar I’m told.), jewellery, toys, stamps, coins, and just about everything in-between.
So take the eBay tour and see for yourself. This’ll give you a good idea what it’s all about. Next issue we’ll have a look at the details. And we’ll also look at a powerful system that some smart infopreneurs are using to sell their ebooks. Until then, have a browse and have some fun. There’s money to be made in auctions.
